Case Study for Change Programme Turnaround. The brief was to provide support to recover a large scale Change Programme (the largest in the client’s history) which had spent its budget and gone wrong


The Approach

Change Programme Turnaround approach:

  • Conducted a round of Stakeholder Interviews and assessed the status of completed and in-flight activity as part of The Reality Check®
  • Documented rationale, scope, strategy, plan, resource model and financials.
  • Ran risk assessments, to qualify and quantify the budget and likely contingency required.
  • Set up new Programme Management Office (PMO) to deliver Programme, and up-skill in-house team
  • Put in place simple and effective Governance Model, inc. meetings and reporting cadence, financial management, risks & issues
  • Delivered agreed outcomes

The Outcome

Change Programme fully funded with accurately assessed cost to complete, and Stakeholder confidence restored from turnaround. Programme Leadership Team asked to help IT Function with Transformation, embedding best practices demonstrated during Programme.

Change & Delivery Assurance activity experience also include view of more than 100 Projects & Programmes for a FTSE 100 business post-merger’s and various smaller engagements such as initiating and running a portfolio of change for a £100m turnover PE backed healthcare business.
